The vacancy rate associated with Direct Support Professional positions within the intellectual disability service system was examined. Based on an increasing number of persons receiving residential services and a similarly Professionals, it suggested that equilibrium between supply demand had been reached. It acknowledged this “equilibrium” clearly does not meet satisfaction people working in supported by field. A possible explanation offered.
